What should I do when I join the job that I've never gone through?

Now I join the job that I've never gone through. Almost of all tasks that I must think for client is new things. I joined last week the project as a manager. Of cource I understand that I must manage the team member and deliver the job, but I keep to strugle to manage because I have no idea to get quick win.

Although my boss help me to deliver, he said "Delivering this project is your misson, so I can help but you must think to sucsess by yourself because you are a manager". It's correct, and I think so too. However it is difficult for me to deliver the project by myself completely because it's the new subject, and it's the first time to work as a manager.

All things I write is the excuse. I know it, but I hope to study what should I do in this situation. I think all manager went through same experience, so I beleive I can also break throuth. I'll keep to strugle.
